Who we are
GachaDock is developed and operated by Keystone Web Studios, 120 E. Caroline Ave, Altoona, PA 16602, United States. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
This policy applies to GachaDock, rather than every Keystone service. Other websites, game publishers, linked services and Apple operate under their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
- Account and profile: your email address, account ID, display name, username, optional biography and account status. Steam sign-in or linking provides your Steam identifier. Sign in with Apple provides an Apple account identifier, the name Apple shares when you first authorize it, and a verified email that may be an Apple private relay address. Apple authorization tokens are stored encrypted so access can be revoked when you disconnect or delete your account. We do not receive your Apple or Steam password.
- Community activity: artwork submissions, original upload filenames, ZIP files, preview images, descriptions, tags, character and game labels, source links, credits, submission history, votes, favorites and content reports.
- Cloud layouts and playlists: the names you choose, artwork identifiers and titles, game labels, display index, position and size, selected animations, reactions, quality settings, playlist order and timing. These settings are linked to your account.
- Purchases: when Apple subscriptions are available and used, verified transaction and subscription identifiers, product, purchase and expiry dates, renewal or refund status, and an identifier linking the purchase to your GachaDock account. Apple processes payment details; GachaDock does not receive your full payment card number.
- Support and safety: messages you send us, copyright notices and related correspondence. Please avoid sending passwords, payment card details or unrelated sensitive information.
- Technical records: IP address, browser or app request information, timestamps, session identifiers, sign-in attempts, errors and security records generated while the website, APIs, downloads and email services operate.
What stays on your Mac
Personal artwork imports, extracted animation files, downloaded packages and local playback caches stay on your Mac unless you deliberately submit files to the community. Browsing or placing an artwork does not automatically upload your personal library.
If you use cloud layout sync, artwork references, titles and arrangement settings are sent to your account so the layout can be restored on another Mac. The source ZIPs are not included. A matching artwork must still be available on the receiving Mac or downloaded from the catalog.
GachaDock does not collect a recording of your desktop, screen contents, keystrokes or activity in other apps. Authentication tokens are stored in the Mac Keychain. Local settings and cached files remain on the Mac until you remove them; signing out does not itself erase your imports.
What stays on your iPhone
The current iPhone beta saves favorites, playback preferences, Wallpaper Studio projects and cached artwork on your phone. Studio background photos and exported wallpapers stay on your device unless you choose to share them. The beta does not currently sign in to a GachaDock account, make purchases or sync favorites and Studio projects to the server.
Browsing and downloading the public catalog makes requests to GachaDock services. Those requests generate the technical and security records described above. A photo you choose for a Studio background is not automatically uploaded to the community.
How we use information
We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. GachaDock does not use advertising pixels or cross-app advertising tracking. Service and security records are used to operate and protect GachaDock.
- Create and secure accounts, send requested sign-in emails, connect the Mac app and provide account features.
- Review submissions, publish approved artwork and attribution, provide catalog previews and downloads, and handle reports or copyright requests.
- Save favorites and votes, sync layouts and playlists, verify Premium access, associate and restore Apple subscriptions, and prevent purchase abuse.
- Answer support requests, troubleshoot failures, protect the service, enforce community rules and meet legal obligations.
Public profiles and submitted artwork
Your display name, username, biography, published artwork and attribution can be visible publicly. If you enable the public Steam connection option, your Steam profile link is also displayed. Your email address, saved layouts, private submissions and reports are not shown on your public profile.
New submissions stay private while a human reviews them. If approved, their previews, descriptions, tags, credits, profile attribution and approved download files may be made available to others. Do not include private information in artwork or fields intended for publication.
We may share relevant notice details with an affected uploader or rights holder when handling a copyright dispute. Public information and artwork can be copied by others; removing a listing cannot erase copies already downloaded or held by third parties.
Service providers and other disclosures
We use providers to operate the service, including Microsoft Azure for hosting, Cloudflare for network protection and private file storage, Resend for account emails, and Apple for optional sign-in, App Store purchases and subscription verification. These providers process information needed for their role under their own applicable terms and safeguards. Steam processes information when you choose to use its sign-in or linking features.
Access is limited to people and providers who need it to operate, support or protect GachaDock. We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, address abuse or threats, protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable protections.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide your account and requested features, manage submissions, maintain purchase and business records, address abuse, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the information and purpose; we do not promise a single period for every record.
Limited records may be retained after an account or content removal where needed for legal, financial, security or dispute purposes. Backup copies may remain until the relevant backups are replaced or deleted. Local files and copies held by other users are separate from our account records.
We use access controls, encrypted connections and other reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can edit your public profile, disconnect Steam or Apple, hide your public Steam link, change favorites and revoke Mac app connections through the account features provided. Premium layouts and playlists can be managed in the app.
To delete your account, open Your plan → Delete account in the Mac app, or Account & connections → Delete account on the website. The confirmation page explains removal, local files and Apple billing. Account records and public listings are removed when you confirm; uploaded files are queued for cleanup after five minutes, with retries for temporary failures. Administrative accounts require an ownership handover.
When an Apple sign-in connection is disconnected or its GachaDock account is deleted, revocation of that Apple authorization is queued with encrypted credentials and retried if Apple is temporarily unavailable. Disconnecting your only sign-in method requires another supported way to access your profile.
For access, correction, a copy of your information, or deletion of your account and associated personal information, contact [email protected] with the subject “GachaDock privacy request.” We may ask for information needed to verify account ownership. Do not send your password. We will respond as required by applicable law and explain any limits or records that must be retained.
Deleting an account or uninstalling the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel it through your Apple account. Removing GachaDock account data does not remotely delete artwork files already stored on your Macs.
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, request portability, appeal a decision, or complain to a supervisory authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
International processing and legal bases
Keystone Web Studios is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate; their laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply to international transfers.
Where European or UK data protection law applies, we rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and securing it, legal obligations, and consent where required. You may withdraw consent for optional processing without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Children’s privacy
GachaDock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Apple’s age ratings, family purchase controls and purchase authorization operate separately; GachaDock does not independently verify a purchaser’s age.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy as GachaDock or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or choices where required.
